PhD in Archaeology from the University of Manchester, UK, 2004. He was the Dean of Petra College for Tourism and Archaeology in al-Hussein Bin Talal University. In addition, he was the chairholder of the UNESCO Chair on Heritage and Sustainable Tourism and the Director of the Nabataean Centre for Archaeological Studies in the same university.
