Admission Requirements

Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities welcomes all students who are interested in joining its academic programs, according to a set of academic and skills-based criteria that ensure the readiness of the student for the requirements of higher education.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A Minimum grade of (75) in Arabic language in the high school Diploma or pass the university’s Arabic language test.
  • Pass the personal interview.
  • Achieve the minimum overall GPA as specified in the table below.
  • Minimum required GPA according to the type of certificate:

First: High School Certificate in the UAE

SABIS system

An overall average of at least 70%

International Baccalaureate (IB)

International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points, excluding bonus points.

The American system

An overall average of at least 80% or a cumulative GPA of at least 3 (on a 4-point scale) or equivalent.

The British system (GCE/IGCSE)

A total of Eight Subjects, Five at (O) level and Three at (AS/A) level, with a minimum grade of C in all subjects. Arabic language and Islamic Education subjects are not included in the calculation.

College

Special qualifications

College of Islamic Studies

  • A score of (85) is achieved in Islamic Education subject in High School.
  • Proficiency in reciting the Holy Quran with consideration of Tajwid rules.
  • Memorization parts of the Holy Quran.

College of Social and Human Sciences

    • A score of (85) is achieved in Arabic language, Islamic Education, or any related subjects to the college’s programs in high school or its equivalent.
    • Has volunteer or work experience in humanitarian work or any other related fields

College of Arts and Languages

  • An overall average of at least 80% or a cumulative GPA of at least 3 (on a 4-point scale) or equivalent.

Note:

If the certificate is issued from outside the UAE or from an educational system not affiliated with the Ministry of Education, an official equivalency/ attestation from the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates is required to be submitted.

Master's Program Admission Requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with a cumulative GPA of not less than 3.0 out of 4.0 or its equivalent, from a recognized and accredited educational institution.
  • Passing the university’s Arabic language test.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in the English language: obtaining a minimum overall score of 4.5 in the IELTS (Academic) test or its equivalent.
  • Passing the written test.
  • Passing the personal interview.

PhD program admission requirements

    • Obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized and accredited educational institution.
    • Obtaining a Master’s degree in a relevant field with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0 or its equivalent, from a recognized and accredited educational institution.
    • Passing the university’s Arabic language test.
    • Demonstrating proficiency in English language: obtaining an overall score of at least 5.0 in the IELTS (Academic) test or its equivalent.
    • Passing the written test.
    • Passing the personal interview.
