The dissertation Analysis of Political Discourse in the Letters of Zayed the First examines texts that reveal the qualities of an exceptional figure who played a significant role in shaping the political trajectory of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the early nineteenth century. These letters reflect Sheikh Zayed’s concern for the affairs of the homeland and society, as well as his commitment to consolidating stability and strengthening bonds of belonging. The dissertation adopts a systematic linguistic approach that moves from sentence-level grammar to text linguistics, combining theoretical discussion with practical analysis. This makes it possible to examine the textual structure of the letters and identify their patterns and meanings. The study opens with a historical introduction that situates the reader within the context in which these letters were produced, followed by a theoretical chapter defining the key concepts and terms. The second and third chapters are devoted to the study of cohesion and coherence, while the fourth and final chapter analyses pragmatic textual standards and relates them to precise statistical findings. The importance of this dissertation lies in its engagement with a rich linguistic corpus, which made it possible to compile a lexicon of lexical and syntactic usage reflecting the stylistic and linguistic features prevalent at the time, while also providing a scholarly tool for understanding political discourse in the light of text linguistics. In this way, the dissertation constitutes a substantial contribution to academic scholarship and serves as a bridge between the study of written heritage and modern linguistic approaches.

Moral values constitute the core and essence of Islamic law and its noblest aims. In financial transactions, they remain clearly present and integral to the field. They are present as moral parameters that guide the individual in financial dealings, clarifying the conduct expected of him and the obligations incumbent upon him. In this way, these values remain active in financial dealings, guiding individuals to conduct their transactions properly and in accordance with them. This study aims to demonstrate the high standing accorded to values and ethics in Islamic law in general, and their particular place in the domain of financial transactions. Islamic law does not regard values and ethics merely as recommended virtues and commendable manners in the aggregate. Rather, they are present and influential controls and standards in human life, and they are especially influential in financial dealings. The study draws on a number of models and examples that demonstrate the importance of values in various financial transactions.

This book examines the strategies of persuasive discourse in political and diplomatic communication, with particular focus on the speeches delivered by the delegation of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations Security Council during 2022–2023. The author adopts a rhetorical-pragmatic theoretical framework that links persuasion to argumentation and draws on both classical and modern concepts such as ethos, pathos, logos, speech acts, and the conditions for argumentative success. The book highlights that contemporary political discourse no longer merely serves a communicative or aesthetic function, but is now measured by its ability to exert influence and secure support in complex international contexts. The study also analyses the linguistic and argumentative structures of these speeches, demonstrating how solidaristic, directive, and allusive strategies are employed to construct a humane and rational discourse founded on dialogue and the rejection of violence. The study concludes that Emirati discourse represents a model of soft power, combining humanitarian values, argumentative logic, and diplomatic tact in a manner that promotes international peace and affirms the effectiveness of persuasion as an alternative to exclusion and confrontation.
